Cooperation between business and government is an integral component of a world class city. Accordingly, Atlanta’s administration is dedicated to cultivating that relationship to the benefit of all its citizens.
The Mayor Franklin has taken several steps to prioritize economic development and help the city grow. She has introduced a coordinated multi-pronged effort to increase Atlanta's ability attract, retain, and grow businesses and civic organizations while providing related infrastructure services. The administration is also working to increase the city tax base for the funding of necessary city operations and infrastructure.
The Mayor’s Office worked with several departments to create a New Century Economic Development Plan for the city – including an overall strategy to address issues such as which parts of the city are targeted for growth and what types of industry Atlanta should aim to attract.
