Personal Financial Disclosure Statement
When is the next filing period?
The filing period for 2009 begins on January 2, 2009, and the filing deadline is Tuesday, February 17, 2009.
Where do I file?
All required filers must submit their statement online at the Electronic Filing System. The only exception to the electronic filing requirement applies to senior citizens.
If I have to file online, why did you mail the form to me?
You were mailed a courtesy copy of the statement to enable you to review the questions you will be asked and make your filing easier and more expeditious.
I'm a city board member and older than 65. Do I have to file?
Yes. The only difference is that you may file a paper copy if you complete the form seeking an exemption from the electronic filing requirement.
How do senior citizens file?
Persons who are 65 years of age or older may hand deliver their statement or send it by first class mail to Municipal Clerk, 55 Trinity Avenue, SW, Suite 2700, Atlanta, GA 30303.
I stopped serving in a city position last year. Why did you send me a statement?
The Code of Ethics requires individuals to file each year they serve in a city position and the year after they leave city service. The city's records show that you served after February 15, 2008, which is the cut-off date for service.
I have just been appointed to a city board. Am I required to file within 30 days?
The city has an annual filing requirement. City board members appointed in 2008 are required to file in 2009.
How do I file electronically?
You need to follow the efiling instructions included in the yellow insert in the mailing to your home or review the questions in the help sections in the City Electronic Filing System.
Will I be fined if I am late?
The grace period for filing ends on March 1, 2009. All filers must pay a late filing fee if they file after that date without reasonable cause.
