No. Grant applications will not be accepted from individuals, neighborhood organizations, associations, coalitions, etc. Neighborhood Planning Units are encouraged to coordinate with their respective neighborhoods, organizations, associations, coalitions, etc. to incorporate projects in the NPU application. Awards will be given only to Neighborhood Planning Units and the Atlanta Planning Advisory Board.

Funds awarded under this program may only be used to pay or reimburse expenses to approved vendors that supply services directly related to the program goals and requirements.

Grant funds may not be used to pay the project manager’s relatives or spouses, or companies owned or managed by relatives or spouses for services or goods, but you may consider this type of contribution an in-kind contribution to your project. Additionally, grant funds cannot be used to pay the project manager, NPU officers, or their spouses or relatives for goods or services.

Remaining balances from the approved projects can be utilized for another eligible project upon receipt of written approval from the Assistant Director of Neighborhood Planning Units. All grant funds must be expended before the grant closeout and funds cannot be carried over from year to year, except upon receipt of written approval from the Assistant Director of Neighborhood Planning Units.

Grant awards will be distributed to the designated fiscal agent according to the schedule for grant administration (see page 6). The Department of City Planning reserves the right to change the method of grant payment to comply with City policy.
