PUBLIC TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICES

Crosswalks Replaced with International Markings

This project will replace traditional crosswalks with international markings. The markings will provide both motorists and pedestrians with a more visible path and direction.

Parking Meter Installation/Upgrade

This project is complete.  It is allowing the City to collect vital revenue to be directed at traffic and transportation projects outlined in the QOL Bond Program. It is also an opportunity for better parking control in areas where parked cars are impairing pedestrian mobility and access.

Replacement of School Zone Signs

This project was completed in 2003.  School zone signs were upgraded to optic yellow-green in an effort to enhance public safety and awareness.

Speed Hump/Calming Device Installation

Speed humps/calming devices will be targeted in high impact areas, i.e. schools, churches, & streets that experience excessive driving speeds. Calming devices such as narrowed lanes will be used to make neighborhoods more pedestrian friendly.
