The Moreland Avenue at Glenwood Avenue Intersection Improvement is an LCI Study Project. The City of Atlanta recommends implementation as part of the Atlanta Regional Commission's Livable Centers Initiative Program.
The Atlanta Regional Commission (ARC) requires that all local sponsors complete a concept report before submitting a project implementation application. The ARC will review the application and if it is found to be acceptable, the project will be included in the Transportation Improvement Program to receive federal matching funds. The project will then follow the standard Georgia Department of Transportation Plan Development Process, including environmental clearance, concept approval, preliminary and final design and right-of-way acquisition.
The Atlanta Services Group received a Notice to Proceed to develop the concept report in August of 2008. The concept report is currently being finalized.
