Office of transportation
The Office of Transportation is responsible for overseeing and maintaining the City's street network. This office includes street operations, street maintenance, parking meters, and the Quality of Life Bond Program.
Operations To report problems with a traffic light please call the Customer Service Center Monday - Thursday, 8:15 am - 6:00 pm at (404) 330-6333. After hours, please call (404) 658-7862.
The Operations Division is responsible for monitoring, operating, and maintaining the City’s traffic control devices and systems; and streetlights to ensure the safe, efficient, and vironmentally sensitive movement of vehicular and pedestrian traffic in the City of Atlanta. In addition, Operations also monitors and inspects permitted construction activities of other City agencies.
Maintenance The Maintenance Division provides quality maintenance and construction services for asphalt/concrete streets, unpaved streets, curbs, sidewalks, driveways, bridges, street signs, marking and traffic signals throughout the city.
Transportation Programs and Services
PARKatlanta Public Parking Management Program The PARKatlanta Public Parking Management Program is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and revenue collection of parking meters as well as enforcement of on-street parking throughout the City of Atlanta. Safe Routes to Schools Safe Routes to Schools (SRTS) is a new program created by the federal transportation bill, SAFETEA-LU. The Program's goal is to increase the number of children in grades K-8 who bicycle and walk to school. Safe Routes to School is a comprehensive program that includes the 5 Es:
- Evaluation - Monitoring and researching outcomes and trends through the collection of data, including the collection of mode share before and after the program intervention(s)
- Encouragement - Using events and activities to promote walking and bicycling
- Education - Teaching the school community about the broad range of transportation choices, instructing them in important life-long safety skills and offering school-bound and school area driver safety campaigns
- Engineering - Creating operational and physical improvements to the infrastructure surrounding schools that reduce speeds and establishing safer crosswalks, walkways, trails and bikeways
- Enforcement - Partnering with local law enforcement to ensure drivers obey traffic laws, initiating community enforcement such as crossing guard programs and ensuring that policies are enforced

Valet Parking Pilot Program
The on-street valet drop off/pick-up pilot program has been established for the purpose of reviewing and evaluating the overall operation of valet parking in the public right of way. Applicants who wish to apply must adhere to the guidelines established per City Code, 07-O-2418. Click here for application requirements.
