Mayor Kasim Reed to Break Ground at Doctor’s Memorial Park in Southwest Atlanta

WHAT:

Mayor Kasim Reed will join Department of Parks and Recreation Commissioner Amy Phuong, Atlanta City Councilmember C.T. Martin and other community leaders to break ground at the future Doctor’s Memorial Park.

The park will feature an open lawn, a playground area, and a rain garden. Doctor’s Memorial Park will also include a water-wall memorial which honors physicians from the former Southwest Hospital, one of the few hospitals in the nation controlled or operated by African-Americans.
