Mayor Kasim Reed and the Department of Planning and Community Development to Join the Westside Future Fund for Important Housing Initiative Announcement

WHAT:

Mayor Kasim Reed and Department of Planning and Community Development Commissioner Tim Keane will join Westside Future Fund Executive Director John Ahmann to announce a new housing initiative. The new program will help ensure that current homeowners are not displaced due to rising property taxes in the English Avenue, Vine City, Ashview Heights and Atlanta University Center communities.

The Reed Administration has made it a priority to revitalize Atlanta’s Westside, and has worked to bring new public and private resources to support economic and civic development in the area. As a result of the ongoing revitalization efforts in these neighborhoods, property appreciation is occurring.

The Westside Future Fund is a not-for-profit organization of Atlanta community leaders committed to reinvigorating community growth by coordinating and accelerating efforts elevating the quality of life in Atlanta’s historic Westside neighborhoods.
