NOTES:

Today, forty-nine Mayor’s Youth Program students will complete their training in the areas of Nursing, Pharmacy, Air Conditioning and Automotive. The program, funded through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act and in partnership with Atlanta Technical College, provided students with a nine-week, paid training opportunity to prepare to become certified Nurse Assistants, Patient Care Technicians, Pharmacy Technicians, Air Conditioning Technicians and Automotive Technicians. Students also received a stipend and assistance with transportation fees during the summer. Approximately ten students plan to return to Atlanta Technical College to begin their freshman year of college in the fall
