The City of Atlanta Hosts the 2010 Census Kick-Off Celebration

Mayor Shirley Franklin, the Complete Count Committee, and the United States Census Bureau

 

WHAT:

In an effort to reach out to all Atlanta residents and to make known the importance of completing and returning the 2010 Census questionnaire, the City of Atlanta’s Complete Count Committee is hosting the “2010 Census Kick-Off Celebration.”

 

WHEN:

Monday, October 19, 2009 at 5 p.m.

 

WHERE:

On the steps of City Hall, facing Mitchell Street

 

NOTES:

The celebration will feature performances by the Maynard H. Jackson High School Drum Line, and an original cheer promoting the 2010 Census from their cheerleading squad.  Mayor Shirley Franklin, the Mayor’s Chief Of Staff and Chair of the Complete Count Committee, Greg Pridgeon, Commissioner of the Department of Planning and Community Development, James E. Shelby, and Manuel Landivar, Atlanta Regional Census Manager, will offer remarks during the kick-off celebration.
