old navy's "field trip 4 fun" shopping spree for young Katrina victims


WHAT:             Atlanta Mayor Shirley Franklin and other City of Atlanta officials, Gap, Inc. President and CEO Paul Pressler and Old Navy are inviting 1,300 kids that were displaced due to Hurricane Katrina on a shopping spree in Atlanta this weekend.  Old Navy’s “Field Trip 4 Fun” will be a fun-filled shopping experience, complete with refreshments, activities and goodies.

 

The kids, accompanied by a parent or guardian, will shop at the Old Navy store, where store employees will welcome them and serve as personal shoppers. “Field Trip 4 Fun” will offer each kid the opportunity to pick out up to $100 worth of merchandise – to replace some of the clothing lost due to Hurricane Katrina.

  

WHY:               Atlanta Mayor Shirley Franklin and other City of Atlanta officials have teamed up with Old Navy and Gap Inc. to provide these kids the chance to enjoy an afternoon of shopping and welcome them to Atlanta.
