Today, the City of Atlanta will begin preparation for the 2007 Youth Football season with a coach’s certification and workshop.
Former NFL players Reggie Austin, Gary Burley, Robert Chambers, David Edwards and Dewey McClain along with over 20 head coaches from high schools and colleges throughout the state will convene today at Adamsville Recreation Center, 3201 Martin Luther King Jr., Dr., to offer their talents and experience to City of Atlanta Office of Recreation coaches in the areas of coaching and ethics, working with parents, developing a winning team, as well as defensive and offensive position techniques.
Beginning at 9 a.m., Saturday, July 15, 2007, the coaches will meet with youth, ages 6 – 12 at Central Park for camp. The coaches and players will work on the rules and regulations of the game, skill development and drills.
“I am extremely excited about our upcoming football program,” said the Office of Recreation Director, Charlene Braud. “It is a pleasure to partner with former NFL players and great coaches from across the state to help us prepare for our 2007 Youth Football season.”
