Department of Public Works Strongly Encourages Hard Hats in Downtown Area
The City of Atlanta strongly encourages media, government officials and all operational staff to wear hard hats while conducting assessments of storm damage and interviews in the downtown area. “The areas affected by the recent tornado and other storms are bustling with reporters and government officials conducting interviews and evaluations. We are concerned about their safety and want to remind them that these areas are still hard hat areas”, said Public Works Commissioner David E. Scott. Glass and other debris continue to fall from buildings damaged during the recent tornado and other storms in the Atlanta area.
A limited number of hard hats will be available at 12:30 pm at City Hall – 55 Trinity Avenue, Suite 4700, Atlanta, GA 30303.
