City of Atlanta Continues to help hurricane katrina evacuees as they transition back into the workforce


As the City of Atlanta continues to help the Hurricane Katrina evacuees as they transition back into the workforce, Atlanta will host four job fairs over the next week.

 

Atlanta Workforce Development Agency (AWDA) offers job fairs, job training, child care, computer access, resume assistance, internet and local phone service to Atlanta residents and evacuees. AWDA also offers free casual and professional clothing for evacuees.  

 

Applicants are asked to come prepared to complete an application, should be appropriately dressed and ready to interview. 

 

  • Saturday, September 10, 2005, from 8:00 am-3:00 pm at the Historic Biltmore Hotel located at 817 West Peachtree Street, NW, Atlanta, GA 30308.  More than 40 Atlantic Station stores, restaurants and shops will be available and ready to hire onsite. 

 

  • Monday, September 12, 2005, Ross Dress for Less is holding a job fair from 9:00am-5:00 pm at La Quinta Inn located at 2415 Paces Ferry Road, Atlanta, GA 30339.

 

  • Tuesday, September 13, 2005, from 8:30 am-12:00 pm every Tuesday at AWDA located at 818 Pollard Blvd, Atlanta, GA 30315 (SW corner of Turner Field). More than 20 companies will be available and ready to hire onsite.

 

  • Saturday, September 17, 2005. from 8:00 am- 3:00pm at AWDA located at 818 Pollard Blvd, Atlanta, GA 30315 (SW corner of Turner Field).  More than 40 Atlantic Station stores, restaurants and shops will be available and ready to hire onsite.
