City of Atlanta personnel are working hard in the clean-up and recovery effort following today’s severe weather.

Atlanta Fire-Rescue Department
- 132 calls pending
- 67 trees remain down
- 57 wires remain down
- 15 active incidents where AFR is on the scene
Atlanta Police Department
- Attended to vehicle struck by tree.
- Tree down across Ponce de Leon at Durant Street blocking all six lanes of Ponce de Leon.
Department of Parks, Recreation and Cultural Affairs
- Members of the Department of Parks, Recreation and Cultural Affairs (DPRCA) are working with other city departments to get an assessment on the damages, clearing trees and cleaning up debris.
- There are recreation facilities being affected due to power outages. Adamsville, Rosel Fann, Oakland City Recreation Center and the Washington Natatorium are all without electricity and are not open to the public for general use. Recreation staffs are working with Georgia Power to restore power. As of 3:20 p.m. Adamsville’s power was restored. Rosel Fann Recreation Center is expected to get connected after 7:00 pm. No approximate time for reconnection on the others.
Department of Public Works
- Members of the Department of Public Works (DPW) are providing assistance with heavy equipment as needed to DPRCA for tree removal.
- Sporadic traffic signal malfunctions are being addressed as they are reported.
- DPW has delayed some trash collection routes throughout the city by one day due to weather related street access problems.
GA Power
- 110,000 accounts are without power in the Metro-Atlanta area.
There is a possibility of thunderstorms Monday evening and Tuesday morning in the Atlanta area. The City of Atlanta encourages all residents and businesses that have experienced damage to secure their tarps and debris to prevent further damage to their property.
