Learn About the City's First Housing Analysis at Community Meeting
The City of Atlanta has announced the release of the first of its kind residential parcel study designed to help communities and other stakeholders identify and address strengths and opportunities. The Department of Planning and Community Development (DPCD) commissioned a citywide report of housing conditions in 258 neighborhood areas. The report called, the Strategic Community Investment (SCI) Report, confirms that some parts of the city have flourished while others have become fragile.
According to the SCI Report, within the city’s 143,888 residential parcels, there are 125,022 residential structures. A fair majority (78.1 %) of the City’s residential structures were found to be in “good” condition. The report also states 6.4% of all residential structures appear to be vacant and/or abandoned.
