2012 Mayor’s Cup Amateur Boxing Championship & PAL Benefit
The 2012 Mayor’s Cup Amateur Boxing Championship & Benefit will be held on Saturday, November 3, 2012 at the Atlanta Civic Center from 5pm-12am. This benefit is the only yearly fund-raiser for the Atlanta Police Athletic League (PAL). The proceeds will support an entire year of programming for Atlanta Youth. Tickets are available through Ticketmaster.

“Participation in the PAL program has had a positive impact on the children who attend one of the centers. There are countless stories of youth avoiding going down a dangerous path because of their participation in PAL programs.” says Chief George Turner.
This year’s matches feature 10 fights between Police Officers against Firefighters and other public safety officials. Atlanta Police Officer Alicia Turner will face off against Grady Hospital Paramedic Danielle Ashley.
PAL operates in two area centers and provides a multitude of activities for children in the Atlanta area. In addition to the boxing program, there are basketball, baseball, football, cheerleading and tennis programs. There are also dance and drama programs, homework assistance, computer training, a garden club and a summer camp.

ABOUT PAL: The Atlanta Police Athletic League is a non-profit charitable organization. PAL's purpose is to foster and encourage a spirit of trust, loyalty and value among the city of Atlanta's youth. These activities teach moral, civic, academic and social principles to the participants, utilizing athletics as a basis for this interaction and teamwork.
