Inspections & Code Enforcement

In the majority of cases, if you are receiving a permit, you likely need an inspection from DCP or other agencies.

Common inspections include: 

• Pre-construction
• Footings, Foundation, and Slab
• Trade inspections (like mechanical, electrical, or plumbing)
• Business or alcohol license
• Framing (floors, ceilings, or walls)
• Insulation
• Drywall
• Fire protection
• Sign
• Arborist
• Environmental compliance, managed by Dept. of Watershed Management
• Right-of-way, managed by Dept. of Transportation

Have all approved permit numbers handy. If related to a trade permit, have your specific trade permit number handy.

Inspections received before 3:00pm will be inspected within 2 business days. 

Combination inspection requests must be for the same job address. 

Inspections may be scheduled by the applicant, contractor, or expediter. 

Non-compliance will result in a failed inspection and will require re-inspection. 

DCP-stamped plans are required to be on-site for all inspections. 

There are three ways of scheduling an inspection with DCP:

1.  Through the Accela portal - Due to the pandemic, scheduling an inspection in ACA is temporarily unavailable until further notice. 
2.  By email (for non-arborist inspections) at inspections-oob@atlantaga.gov
