Recycling Fee Exemption

On May 21, 2021, the City of Atlanta approved a new Solid Waste Recycling Exemption for eligible senior citizens. Pursuant to Ordinance 21-O-0201, any senior citizen (65 or older) who meets certain criteria is eligible for an $88.00 recycling fee discount for the calendar year 2021 and a 75% recycling exemption for subsequent years.

The criteria are as follows:

(a) All citizens aged 65 or older before January 1, 2021

(b) Have income less than $25,760.00 of income for the calendar year 2020

The recycling discount is available immediately. You may download the Solid Waste Recycling Exemption Application, complete and email it to DPWCustomerService@AtlantaGA.Gov, or mail it to:
