Chief Kelvin Cochran and the city of Atlanta Fire Rescue Department will graduate 34 firefighters tomorrow, Friday, Feb, 7, at the Atlanta History Center. The recruits have completed the most comprehensive firefighter training program in the state, with 10 months of studying and hands-on work in firefighter competencies, advanced emergency medical and hazardous materials training.
“We are proud of these 34 men and women. This has not been an easy 10 months for them, and they have handled it like true professionals with commitment and dedication,” said Section Chief Monterio Stidwell, who directs the City’s Fire Training Academy. “We look forward to seeing them join the ranks of the fine men and women of the Atlanta Fire Rescue Department.”
