In recognition of National Arts and Humanities Month (NAHM) and Funding for Arts Month, Atlanta City Council Member Kwanza Hall will recognize five notable organizations with a Proclamation at the City Council meeting on October 15, 2012. The Coca-Cola Company, Turner Broadcasting System, Inc., Charles Loridans and the Mark and Evelyn Trammell Foundations, the Kendeda Fund and the Zeist Foundation Inc. will receive the Proclamation.

The City of Atlanta’s Office of Cultural Affairs and Atlanta Downtown Neighborhood Association teamed up Saturday, October 6 to clean South Broad Street for the 22nd Annual Hands On Atlanta Day. Funding was awarded by the “Love Your Block” grant to purchase supplies and clean up South Broad Street, located in downtown Atlanta.

As part of the 22nd Annual Hands on Atlanta Day, Mayor Kasim Reed will kick-off the day of volunteerism by joining more than 100 volunteers and Home Depot executives for the refurbishment of a veteran's home.
