Spring weather includes severe weather, like tornadoes and heavy rain, and flooding. They also create a breeding ground for mosquitos.

Remember these key things to be prepared this spring:

  • Identify a safe location, in case of a tornado
  • Never walk or drive through flooded streets; Turn around, don't drown
  • Check your insurance policies to ensure that you have enough coverage in case of flooding
  • Remove dead or rotting trees and branches that could fall and cause injury or damage during a severe thunderstorm
  • Wear insect repellant to prevent mosquito bites and the possibility of contracting a mosquito-transmitted illness

See the situational awareness bulletins below for more information.
