In observance of the Fourth of July Holiday, the City of Atlanta’s Department of Parks and Recreation facilities will operate on a holiday schedule. On Wednesday, July 3, all recreation centers and natatoriums will close at 6:30 p.m., and will be closed on Thursday, July 4, 2013. The centers and natatoriums will resume their regular schedule on Friday, July 5, 2013.

As a part of National Parks and Recreation Month, the City of Atlanta Department of Parks and Recreation is offering free swim lessons to youth between the ages of 4 and 18. Lessons are offered every Saturday at Pittman Park Pool between 10:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m.

The City of Atlanta and the Atlanta Braves will celebrate the refurbishment of West Manor Park’s Field in honor of Chipper Jones. The event will consist of a ribbon cutting ceremony and skills clinic for the youth baseball players hosted by Chipper Jones.
