Fulton County Superior Court Judge Cynthia Wright today dismissed virtually all claims in a lawsuit filed by losing airport concessions proponent SSP America, Inc. SSP claimed in the lawsuit that the city’s procurement appeals process was unconstitutional, and that the city violated the Georgia Open Records and Open Meetings Acts.

Mayor Kasim Reed and the Office of Cultural Affairs launched Atlanta’s power2give.org, an online cultural marketplace designed to connect donors directly with arts projects that need funding. The City of Atlanta’s Office of Cultural Affairs will match the funds raised by each organization through power2give.org up to $2500 per project, totaling a possible $5000 raised per project.

Today, the City of Atlanta, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and the Department of Planning and Community Development hosted the Atlanta Housing Refinancing Roundtable at City Hall. One of the primary goals of the roundtable was to ensure that Atlanta housing counseling agencies voiced their concerns and issues to White House officials.

On Thursday, the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) delivered a key infrastructure improvement to the City of Atlanta – opening the new Mitchell Street Bridge connecting the Castleberry Hill community, the Georgia Dome, World Congress Center and federal office buildings complex downtown. According to GDOT, the project was delivered on time and on budget.
