When the Department of Watershed Management first envisioned the Dupree Water Tank Painting Project, dark brown was not in the plans. Located off Mt. Paran Road in Northwest Atlanta, the tank was badly rusted and was considered an eyesore by nearby residents. The residents, especially those within sight of the tank, were delighted to hear that a painting project was on the schedule, but they had definite ideas about what color they wanted—and those ideas were at odds with every previous City of Atlanta tank painting project.
